Samove is our name. Where we originate the name from is the combination of the words Samoa and Move your body .We are an all family, all boy group born and bred in the South side of Auckland. This is our first year performing in big events, as we previously mostly performed at church youth events. Our dance pieces show our Polynesian culture and how we can mix different genres of music to our Polynesian traditional dances. The main purpose of this group, like many other groups is to use dance to express not merely impress. But we Samove express our cultural background and where we come from. Our main Moto is D.T.F (not the Jersey shore quote) meaning Dance To Fellowship. 2011 is the start of Samove, and our vision for the group is to bring back 'real' cultural background in dance to our Polynesian community.

Kia Orana. My name is Lomina Meteri Araitia, born and raised in the Cook Islands. Dance has been apart of my life from a very young age thanks to my father and mother. They not only taught me the technical parts of it, but also taught me to embrace it, to feel every movement and to let the emotions come out of the words of my performance. Here in New Zealand I continue to share my passion for Pacific dance in my group Ura Tabu.
