When producing, devising and choreographing dance or theatre, we need to be asking who is it for? Addressing this fundamental Marketing question at the very beginning of the process will go a long way in ensuring you have a willing audience to enjoy your ‘art’ when it does arrive at the stage. This Seminar will look at ways arts organisations can incorporate relevant Marketing strategies at a Management level.
Christine Young is an Arts Management Consultant, who currently works with the APO and Show Motion, and has also worked with Auckland Festival, Storylines Children’s Literature Charitable Trust and a number of arts and not-for-profit organisations in management, marketing and communications roles. Christine was also the editor of NZ Marketing Magazine for several years.
This seminar is suitable for Producers, Directors, Senior Arts Marketers, and others who work in Marketing or Audience Development.
The seminar will cover:
· Developing a Marketing Strategy – Perspectives on Marketing planning
· What are the essential elements of strategic marketing planning?
· Who and what do you need to consider in planning your marketing strategy?
· Putting the audience at the centre of planning
· Applying this to a marketing plan template
· Setting objectives & measuring success
· Budgeting
· Execution – turning the plan into action
